Jillian King: Painting and drawing since childhood. She took art as a subject at school but with work, marriage and children didn’t get back into art until her family were established. She is from the South Island and has been living in Pukekohe for over 20 years. She feels very fortunate to have attended Paul Coney’s art classes in this time and this has been the catalyst in getting back into art. Paul Coney is an internationally recognised Artist and the local community are very lucky to have him as their tutor. Jillian is also involved in a group studying Art Appreciation and History which has had an influence on the kind of work she does. Colour is important and experimenting with different styles is exciting. The medium most favoured in oil and water colour although some of her work has included pastels and acrylic.
